In planning the FORBS 2010 International Santa Jamboree the FORBS Board and the Jamboree Committee have set a goal of having the Jamboree every two years.  So we are looking at 2012, 2014, etc.  In addition, we plan on moving the Jamboree in different cities around the United States. 

The reasons for this goal are quite simple:

1.  Changing the host city every two years allows for more variety to those attending the Jamboree.  Much of the programming and activities will be similar, but the difference in location, coupled with different venues and attractions will offer a more exciting Jamboree.  If we were to hold the Jamboree in the same city every year, it might get stale or boring.  A change in venue will make the Jamboree more exciting

2.  Many attending the Jamboree will be doing it as a vacation, or at least using their vacation time to attend.  Some people like to vary their vacation destinations.  So Jamboree will try to vary its location for those combining vacation with convention.

3.  Some Santas and Mrs. Claus cannot afford to travel long distances to attend a convention,  By moving the Jamboree to different cities and regions, those not able to travel too far might have an opportunity to attend something once in a while closer to home. 

No decision has been made on the 2012 Jamboree, but it is hoped that Santas in various regions will want the Jamboree to come to them and FORBS will consider requests and offers.  But please, wait until we get done with the first one.
