Frequently Asked Questions

As with any event or project, there are always a few questions.  We do hope that most of them are answered within the pages of this web site.  However, should anyone have a question, we will do our best to answer it.

Is Santa Jamboree for Real Bearded Santas Only?  -  On the contrary.  Santa Jamboree is for everyone that is associated with the Holiday Season.  It's for Santas, Mrs. Claus', Elves, Santa helpers, photo companies, costumers, and everyone that is part of or supports our industry.

The banner says June 27 to July 1.  Why does the calendar goes from June 26 to July 2nd?  -  Yes the main dates for Santa Jamboree are June 27 to July 1.  However this event is a bit vacation, a bit convention and a bit magic.  We hope everyone will take advantage of the many things Southern California has to offer and extend their stay at Santa Jamboree.  We have actually scheduled some extra events both before and after the convention and hope that you and others will take advantage of these special events.
I plan on coming to Anaheim, but I only want to socialize and visit with my fellow Santas.  Do I have to register for the Jamboree?  All of the Jamboree meetings, meals, workshops and events areas will be hosted in a reserved area of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which will be private for registered attendees only.  Anyone without official Jamboree ID will not be allowed access to those areas.  All other hotel guests and vacationers, will have access to the hotel's common areas, including the lobby, pool and bar and restaurant, but all meeting areas may only be accessed by registered convention ID.  The Jamboree Committee will be announcing public ticket sales for the Jamboree Gala and possibly other activities.
I have registered for the Jamboree and will be coming to Anaheim.  My wife is planning on joining me but plans to shop and visit relatives.  She will not be going to the workshops.  Can I just purchase a ticket for her to attend the Gala?   Although we would hope your wife would register and attend with you, we do understand.  Yes, she can come with you and share your hotel room and not have to register.  However please note that she will not have any registration ID and therefore will not be allowed into any of the meeting, event or vendor areas and may not march in the Parade.  We will have individual tickets available for purchase in order to attend the Jamboree Gala and other special events, such as our day at Knott's Berry Farm or attending an Angel's game.
Can I go to the Vendor Showcase without registering?  Yes, you can purchase a special one-day shopping pass to visit the Jamboree Vendor Showcase.  The Jamboree committee will also have special public ticket sales for the Jamboree, Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland and other venues.
Do I have to stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel?  We know that lot's of people will be searching the internet for lower hotel room rates.  Why many of the committee members do the same thing when we are traveling.  However please note that the Jamboree Registration packages include all resort and sales taxes which many of the internet sites do not include and hide until you get ready to pay.  Oh, you might save a little money, but you will have the added costs of  the city's hotel resort taxes, sales taxes, parking fees and the time you waste in traveling from your hotel to the Crowne Plaza, finding a parking place, etc.   Why not do the simple thing and enjoy the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort Hotel!
The agenda says the Gala is "Semi-Formal"  I don't want to rent a tux?  -  Semi Formal is a nice way of saying "Dress to Impress."  We don't think many will want to wear a Santa Suit to a reception and dinner, especially in the summer.  Suits, sport coats, think party clothes or like you were on a cruise!
I love the idea of a Parade, but I am limited on how far I can walk?  -  Not to worry, the Parade route at Knott's Berry Farm is less than 1/2 mile and flat and smooth.  The Parade Committee is looking to arrange for special trolleys and other vehicles to allow Santas and Mrs. Claus who have limited movement the opportunity to ride in the Parade.   There will also be floats, Classic Woodies, sleighs and other vehicles.
I am a Mrs. Claus, but cannot attend the Jamboree with my Santa.  Can I still be in the Parade with him?  The Jamboree committee would love to allow everyone to participate in the Parade.  The parade committee is working with Knott's Berry Farm to allow non-Jamboree entries in the Parade, including musical groups, customs cars, etc.  Each entry must be approved.  Please contact the Parade committee to see if you can join the Parade.
I want to register now, but I am worried if my schedule changes.  Can I get a Refund?  -  Yes, we do have a refund policy for the convention.  You will find the refund policies listed on the Registration, Vendors and Sponsor/Advertisers Pages.
I want to bring my family.  Are there other activities the children can do?  -  Yes!  Aside from the hotel pool, there are lots of attractions and tours available for the children and families.  The Jamboree will be geared to adults.  Gray Line tours offers coach travel and admissions to most major Southern California attractions.  Some of these are listed now and we will add more options in the weeks and months ahead.  (Note:  All activities for children require adult supervision, including the hotel pool. )
At the last trip I made, I left my prescriptions at home.  Where is the nearest Pharmacy?  You are in luck.  Directly across the Street is a Walgreens that is open until 9:00 p.m. and a Target that is open weeknights to 11:00 p.m.
I am attending the Convention but my wife does not plan to attend any workshops.  Is there places were she can shop?  -  Yes!  There are quite a few shopping areas less than a mile from the hotel.  The hotel shuttle can take anyone to the Disney Resort where you can enjoy Downtown Disney.  Across the street from the Disney Resort is The Shops at Anaheim Garden Walk and just down the street from the hotel is the Block at Orange.   Orange County is also home to South Coast Plaza which boasts almost every shop you would find on Rodeo Drive or at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, plus more. (It's so big, they have eight Santas working there!)
It's not that I don't like Hotel Food, but after a day or two, I want something different!  -  Everyone will love our location at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort.  In addition to the Hotel's Cafe, Cantina and Gourmet Coffee Bar, there are Four Restaurants right outside of the Hotel: Joe's Crab Shack, the Red Robin, Oggi's Pizza and Brewery, and Outback Steakhouse.  Plus there is a Starbucks next door and more restaurants across the street.
