Volunteers

It has been said that the secret to the success of any non-profit event or activity is the army of volunteers that donate their time and energy.

The FORBS 2010 International Santa Jamboree is no different.  We will be depending on the contributions and donations of 150 or more volunteers who will help in all areas of the Jamboree.  From the General Chairman all the way down to the official Jamboree Greeters, everyone is a volunteer.

And depending on how many hours your contribute, you will receive credit towards your registration at the Jamboree.  In some cases, committee chairs will also receive credit towards their hotel lodging.  Even the presenters for the workshops will receive some form of credit or stipend for their contributions.

So in addition to having a great time and contributing towards the success of the Jamboree, you will be rewarded as well.  Note:  Some volunteers may need to arrive in town a day or two before the convention to help in preparations.

Santa Jamboree is a total volunteer event with a strict budget.  Therefore we are limited to what compensation we can give to the volunteers.  We have established a basic plan that all volunteers should be registered Jamboree attendees and have paid for their registration.  It does not matter if a volunteer is staying at the hotel, lives locally or is staying at a campground.  The following is a draft of our policy for compensation of Volunteer workers and Workshop presenters:

FORBS Santa Jamboree Compensation Policy for Chairpersons and Volunteers.

All Committee Chairpersons, Workshop Presenters and official ‘host’ workers will receive compensation ranging from $75.00 to $120.00 compensation rebate on their registration fees in exchange for their contribution or services to the Jamboree and their fellow Santas.  This compensation does not include any room payments, upgrades or payment for any of the dinner shows or attractions.  If both the husband and wife or other family members are volunteers or presenters, the rebate will be $75.00 each for a total of $150.00.

Each Volunteer will receive an agreement with a description of their duties, which they must understand and agree to. We are not looking for individuals who are just looking to save on their registration. We truly want volunteers who will be excited about working with and assisting their fellow Santas. Should a volunteer fail or not be able to fulfill their agreement, compensation may be withheld.

In addition, volunteers and presenters will receive special committee identification which will include identification on their badges as a ‘host’ or ‘presenter.’

Additional compensation may be given at the discretion of the Jamboree Committee, for those volunteers in key rolls, those committing an excessive amount of time to serving their fellow Santas, or in exchange for services rendered or products donated. No one should assume they have any credit, compensation or rebate due, unless they have a signed agreement, in writing from the Jamboree Committee.

Those interested in volunteering should contact the chairperson of the committee they would like to work with.  Just click on the "Committee" link below.
